  • Travel Review : Let’s go see the St. Louis Rams play! Wait, it’s June, we have to wait until August at least, no… Wait.. They moved the team to Los Angeles. I’m assuming it’ll feel… “different” in St. Louis during football season.  I rode past the stadium and I literally saw grass growing out of the parking lot.  It was a sad feeling, and what’s funny about it is I’m not even from here but I could understand how people would feel.  Does this give the St. Louis Rams fans to now root for any team they want to since their team deserted them?  St. Louis is a pretty cool city.  I definitely had to see the St. Louis arch before I did anything.  Lucky for me my hotel was literally overlooking the Arch so I killed two birds with one stone.  St. Louis has alot of things to see like their museums, a very upbeat downtown area, and the zoo.  All three of the things I just mentioned I didn’t visit or do, so let me know how that goes for you!  My trip in St. Louis I literally just wanted to sit in my hotel room all day with a blue moon and a remote control, and that’s exactly what I did until it was time to eat.  Before I traveled to St. Louis I was given a plethora of options of places to eat.  Who would’ve thought St. Louis was a foodie city?  I opted to spend my time at two restaurants, and I am very pleased with both of my decisions.
  • Restaurant Review : If you followed me from the beginning you’re probably wondering, “why doesn’t he post any breakfast foods?”.  I actually love breakfast but my travel doesn’t allow me to arrive early enough for me to enjoy a nice hot breakfast most times.  Today though… “I got time” (this was an inside joke for people who seen the video of the kid trying to fight the other kid.. I digress)  The restaurant I chose for breakfast was Goody Goody.  Listen… The name of the restaurant doesn’t justify how good this food was!  Is it just me or is some of the best foods you’ll eat are at places that look beat up on the outside? Those places are what I call “character restaurants”.  It shows that their food is so good that they’re sticking to the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover”.  The inside of the restaurant looked like a regular diner.  You could tell people from all over the world come to visit the restaurant because they have a big map on the inside and I assume it’s where people traveled from to dine at the restaurant.  I ordered the catfish and grits with a side of over easy eggs and another side of sausage gravy with a biscuit.  I decided to order alot of food because I had already made up my mind that I wasn’t doing anything but watching t.v. and watching the time slowly go by until I decided to get up and go to dinner.  My catfish was perfectly fried and my grits were just right.  Not too creamy and not too thick.  The sausage gravy was amazing as they give you a nice spoonful of sausage gravy to go over a perfectly golden brown biscuit. I would recommend this restaurant to each and every person I came in contact with.  The prices should also persuade you too as they won’t put a dent in your pockets.

(Dinner): I think I took one of the best naps of my life before I decided to tell my uber I was ready to go eat.  No seriously, drool was all over my pillow.  Ok, I digress.  I decided to take my hunger to Sweetie Pies.  I mean.. Seriously.. Who would go to St. Louis without visiting Sweetie Pies?  If Oprah can go, then so can you!  I went to sweetie pies around 2:30 p.m. as I heard my wait maybe thirty minutes or a little over, but when I got there I did NOT expect what I had seen.  First, the location that I went to (because sweetie pie’s has various locations in St. Louis) was the Upper Crust location.  From the outside it looked as though it could be a “character restaurant” but when you go inside you can feel love all around you.  It’s like sitting in your grandmothers kitchen waiting for cornbread to come out of the oven so it could help you finish your meal.  What I didn’t expect is TWO long lines.  One is good enough for me but two?! What did I do to deserve two long lines?  Well, both of those lines were worth the hour and a half wait.  You wouldn’t believe who was at the restaurant serving dishes.  Who? You know who! Miss Robbie. Miss Sweetie Pie herself! She is so beautiful, loving, and charismatic.  I dont like to snap photos of any “celebrity” without their permission especially if they’re working so I asked her politely, “may I please take a picture of you?” …. Her response?  ” Of course baby, wait.. Let me fix my hair net”  If you would’ve seen how big the smile was on my face, you would’ve thought I was a mix of the joker and the grinch (but in a good way).  The restaurant is set up “cafe style” where you pick what you want right in front of you and they pile it on a plate for you.  I decided to order two entrees which consisted of smothered pork chops with macaroni and cheese and collard greens, along with fried chicken, sweet corn, and black eyed peas.  The restaurant is a nice size so I had a booth to myself to enjoy my food.  I took pictures of my food so I could get the perfect image, but I didn’t realize that I didn’t pick my head back up until all the food was gone off of my plates.  It was really that good.  The macaroni and cheese was cheesy and you could taste the sour cream in it along with the gravy that was on top of the pork chops.  Between you and I, I think the gravy had Mr. Krabs secret formula inside of it (Spongbob reference, keep up folks!)  The fried chicken was fried to perfection and the collard greens had just the right amount of seasoning.  My favorite side dish was the black eyed peas.  They reminded me of when my grandmother makes them for new years eve along with some catfish. YUMMY!  I was so full after devouring both of my entrees, but I was so satisfied with my experience and was very pleased that the restaurant wasn’t all “hype”.  Would I suggest that you go there?  What do you think?  Do you even have to ask? Lol. Of course!  And yes, it is worth they hype!
