Restaurant Review : Breakfast! The most important meal of the day right? I decided to grab some breakfast at this spot called Miss Shirley’s in Maryland. They have different locations but this one I went to was in Annapolis, MD. They are known for having “Pancakes or French Toast” specials of the month. This month they decided to go with a Dark Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast – garnished with Diced Strawberries, Dark Chocolate Chips, Chocolate Sauce, Whipped Cream, Powdered Sugar & Chocolate Covered Strawberry. This special french toast was at this location as other locations (Inner Harbor and Roland Park) all have their own specials for the month. Of course I decided to order the special of the month, although all of their choices on the regular menu sound amazing, I decided to see what the “special” was all about. My waitress came to place the order and I decided to get a black berry peach tea crush as my drink of choice. It comes with Deep Eddy Peach Vodka, Blackberries, Mint Leave with Simple Syrup, and Unsweetened Tea. Let’s make a long story short, ok? I didn’t like it. AT ALL. It wasn’t sweet enough, but then again it did say “unsweetened tea”. I just thought that it would be sweet because of the simple syrup and peach vodka. I decided to replace that drink with a Strawberry Lemonade Mojito. This choice was a much sweeter treat as it came with Pearl Lime Basil Vodka, Fresh Strawberries, Simple Syrup, and Sugar around the rim. I was very pleased with this choice as it gave me a slight buzz because I drank it too fast! HAHA. I decided to order a side of eggs and bacon with my french toast as well because I didn’t think it would be enough. Have I ever told you I was wrong? Well… I was. The french toast was big enough for 3 people! It was stuffed with a good amount of strawberry creamed cheese, surrounded by chocolate chips, and topped with powdered sugar and whipped cream. It was probably the best french toast I’ve ever had in my life. The french toast was soft and little to minimal syrup was needed. I ordered my eggs scrambled soft with cheese and bacon. I always order my eggs soft because restaurants like to scramble your eggs until they look like breakfast potatoes. I didn’t have no complaint with the eggs or bacon, by the way the bacon was amazing! Another order was the chicken and waffles. I didn’t particularly care for the chicken and waffles or its presentation. It looked “childish” for lack of better words. Fried Boneless Chicken Pieces(the waitress didn’t offer breast or any other parts of the chicken) And a Honey Mustard Aioli drizzle on Cheddar Green Onion Waffles topped with Peppadew-Jalapeno Butter. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to order that unless they’re in need of chicken and waffles, LOL. It won’t hurt you to order it, all I’m saying is that it wasn’t my favorite. Overall, I loved the restaurant and would go back any day of the week!

Miss Shirley’s is by far one of my favorite breakfast/brunch spots. The food never disappoints.
